TomCat S. (257) | Friday November 9, 2012, 9:37 am Republicans are still holding on to the claim that the richest Americans are the job creators, and how favoring them will make us all better off. You?d think America would know better by now, because wealth keeps gushing up, and the only thing that trickles down on us is elephant crap. Your report has been submitted to Customer Service. Gloria picchetti (133) | Friday November 9, 2012, 10:22 am A republican always says tax cuts create jobs. I have only had two part time jobs in two summers in the last five years. They still have their stupid tax breaks so where are all the jobs? Your report has been submitted to Customer Service. Thank you. There was a problem submitting your report. Roseann D. (151) | Friday November 9, 2012, 10:46 am Remember, when the likes of Bill O' Reilly and Ann Coulter claim, 50% of Americans want "stuff". It's really the elite that want more stuff. "More yachts, multiple homes, car elevators, Million Dollar Rooms and other ridiculous excess. The middle class and poor want a fair shot, financial security and to enjoy the fruits of our labor. When Coulter said, "Society has reached the point where we have more takers than makers. Remember, the workers and laborers are the Makers, the elite are the Takers...robbing us of our tax dollars. It's disgusting to be both rich and a Freeloader. Your report has been submitted to Customer Service. Thank you. There was a problem submitting your report. Please try again later. ? |
Kit B. (300) | Friday November 9, 2012, 11:20 am Want stuff? What stuff? We all know exactly what "trickle down" means and that "job creators" is new word added to the lexicon of political "gobbledygook" so no one accidentally speaks the truth to the lies.

Roseann D. (151) | Friday November 9, 2012, 11:58 am I don't mind the Bush Tax cuts ending for all of us if need be. If that's the only way to get the elite to pay up. We had it great under Clinton as I recall. What I won't stand for are attempts to cut our EARNED SS, Medicare and Medicaid that we've paid into. Your report has been submitted to Customer Service. Tim Paich (42) | Friday November 9, 2012, 5:46 pm I have a group and petition for the economy. Let's sign it. I need 1,000 signatures. On change.org I didn't even reach 100 and here it's 343. Reshaping the World http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/Reparing http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/ridiculous-gas-prices-costing-driving-lessons/ http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-ridiculous-gas-prices.html http://www.change.org/petitions/reshape-the-world-to-improve-our-lives [This is the most important on my activist network. There are high gas prices that affect things but also the economy in the worst shape it?s ever been in. This is what?s affecting us in our lives. There are also driving schools on waiting lists as of the economy in bad shape as there had to be cuts on things. This isn?t all political or undoing the damage of the Bush/Cheney administration. Let?s take action on this one. We are in the worst times of the unemployment rate being high but the great depression was worse and we could go worse than that era. We kind of saw coming in 2007 the economy going in the worst shape as cuts on things have started along with businesses having to cut short on employees or work hour cuts. We kind of saw it coming soon that the economy is in the worst shape and we also need to take responsibility for our own actions. I got into reshaping the world as of not getting driving lessons with having a learner?s permit as driving schools have too many people on waiting lists and most driving schools in the world are on long waiting lists. There are more important reasons to take action for reshaping the world than waiting lists on driving schools like joining emergency services and power companies so people aren?t without electricity for too long. There is allot of greed for money as not just oil companies are greedy along with people not greedy put prices of things ridiculous that affect businesses and stock market crashes with the economy out of shape. This petition started off on high gas prices. Let?s all take action on reshaping the world as it?s mainly on the economy.]

Camila K. (140) | Friday November 9, 2012, 6:12 pm I was stunned to hear NPR talking about how FOX is being criticized for misleading viewers, because apparently, they really were shocked that Romney lost considering how hard FOX was cheerleading for him. They felt confused and betrayed, and had no idea that the truth was far different than what they were constantly told...........duh. We have been trying to tell them, helll-o. They compared what happened to how the French were telling people that all was fine while the Nazi's were taking over. Lies don't work. Truth always wins. DUH!!!! Great commentary Tom, wish I could send stars to all of you guys again!

Lynn Squance (153) | Friday November 9, 2012, 11:17 pm Robert Reich is spot on! First, consider the number of people in the 1% versus the number of people in the middle class. Second, now consider the amount of possible spending by the 1% versus a robust middle class. To me, it is very evident that the larger middle class is going to spur the growth in the economy by buying, creating a demand for products. That demand leads to higher employment rates, more money in pockets, and more consumption. Billionaire Nick Hanauer had it right when he said he was not a job creator. He said the middle class is the job creator in its quest for products and services. Another point, if I recall correctly, the Clinton presidency had much higher tax rates, AND it had much better job growth and a better economy. That rather dashes the current argument to pieces, unless I missed something somewhere. The Republican/Teabaggers really need to get their heads out of their asses and get a new shtick! Pat Armstrong (71) | Saturday November 10, 2012, 1:27 am Repuglicons have caused the deficit. Repuglicons have failed to create jobs. Repuglicons want to strip Social Security (which is in surplus) to fund their grab grab grab millionaires and billionaires . Decades have proved that Repuglicons have caused deficits and few jobs (or massive loss of them) - whilst the Democrats have caused surpluses and tens of millions more jobs - yet some people still believe the Repuglicons when they talk about slashing benefits and increasing military spending, and 'trickle down economics'..... (is there a mind control cult out there - or are they doing frontal lobotomies on people in secret???!!)

janice b. (0) | Saturday November 10, 2012, 5:45 am NO ONE alive knows more about the SUPPLY SIDE than Office of Management and Budget for U.S. President Ronald Reagan as David Stockman quoted as referring to Reagan's tax act as: "I mean, Kemp-Roth [Reagan's 1981 tax cut] was always a Trojan horse to bring down the top rate.... It's kind of hard to sell 'trickle down.' So the supply-side formula was the only way to get a tax policy that was really 'trickle down.' Supply-side is 'trickle-down' theory." Of the budget process during his first year on the job, Mr. Stockman is quoted as saying : "None of us really understands what's going on with all these numbers," which was used as the subtitle of the article in Atlantic Monthly. After Stockman's first year at OMB and after "being taken to the woodshed by President Reagan due to his candor with Atlantic Monthly's William Greider............, Stockman became even more convinced SUPPLY SIDE was the way of projected trends of increasingly large federal deficits and the rapidly expanding national debt Your report has been submitted to Customer Service.
