Mr. Sexy Back tries to bring Myspace back

NEW YORK (AP) ? "Who am I to say I want you back? When you were never mine to give away."

Those are the opening lines of a song that accompanies a "New Myspace" promotional video. The once-mighty social network is trying to stage yet another comeback with the help of Justin Timberlake. The new site, for which people can request an invitation, looks a bit like an entertainment-focused version of Pinterest, with a dash of Twitter and Facebook thrown in.

But Myspace has tried redesigns before, to no avail. Will it work this time?

"If you break my heart a second time, I might never be the same," continues the song, "Heartbeat," by the group JJAMZ.

From the sound if it, Myspace wants to win the hearts and minds of tech-savvy hipsters. Founded in 2003 and initially a fast-rising star, Myspace attracted mostly teenagers and twentysomethings, offering them a place to express themselves online. It peaked in 2008 with some 76 million U.S. visitors in October. The site lost its footing as the fun of customizing profile pages began to bore its users and the site's heavy use of banner advertisements slowed the speed at which pages loaded. At the same time, people were already migrating to Facebook, which counted users 35 and older among its fastest-growing demographic.

The company's new promotional video offers a 2-minute and 18-second peek into a slick, image-heavy site. The site's much cleaner look is a stark contrast to the old Myspace, which users often derided as messy and cluttered. Posted this week, the video promises that Myspace will start "totally from scratch," as if trying to shed its former self. It doesn't say when the new site will launch, only that it's "not ready quite yet."

The new Myspace will let users connect to the site with their Twitter or Facebook accounts, a sign that it won't be competing with those sites as a social networking service. Rather, Myspace will continue with its entertainment focus, as a place to play and discover music, add photos, videos and playlists and connect with artists.

Timberlake, who's featured prominently in the video, will likely play a big part of the MySpace revamp. The former 'N Sync pop star, with a group of other investors, bought MySpace last summer from News Corp. for $35 million, mostly in stock. That was quite a difference from the $580 million that News Corp. paid for the company in 2005, when it was still an Internet darling.

MySpace, of course, isn't Timberlake's first foray into social networking. He played Napster co-founder Sean Parker, a party animal and early Facebook adviser, in Aaron Sorkin's "The Social Network" in 2010.

In August this year, research firm comScore put Myspace's monthly unique visitors at 28 million, making it the 43rd most visited Web property in the U.S. It's behind the likes of not just Google, Facebook and Twitter but startups such as Tumblr, along with the reviews site Yelp and WebMD.

"The new design certainly looks beautiful and it could certainly spur a lot of initial interest," said Clark Fredericksen, spokesman for research firm eMarketer, which used to put out ad revenue estimates for MySpace but no longer does. "But there are going to be significant challenges for any company looking to enter the digital music space. You have a lot of entrenched players who are really successful."

Those players include Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, not to mention Apple Inc.'s iTunes.

There's also the mobile question. It's unclear from the video what plans the new MySpace has for mobile devices such as Android smartphones, iPhones and tablet computers. Fredricksen points out that cloud-based music ? streamed over an Internet connection ? is shifting toward the mobile platform primarily. We are all on the go with our music. MySpace is entering a crowded market here, too.

Representatives for Specific Media, which owns Myspace, did not return messages for comment Wednesday. Timberlake's publicist also did not return an email for comment. With only the slick demo and the poppy, bittersweet lyrics of the JJAMZ song to offer details about the "New Myspace", these lines stand out:

"Maybe I'm ashamed to want you back. Maybe I'm afraid, you'll never stay."

The Charger Bulletin ? UNH Dedicates Residence Hall in Honor of ...

On Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, the New Hall student residence was renamed Bergami Hall in honor of Samuel S. Bergami, Jr., and his wife, Lois Stapleton Bergami, at a well-attended dedication ceremony. The UNH community, including senior members of administration, faculty, staff, students and friends, recognized the remarkable commitment of the Bergami family to the growth and development of the University through their past and present donations of time and money. Sam Bergami, who was former chair and is a current member of the Board of Governors, is a UNH alumnus. He was awarded an EMBA from the College of Business in 1985.

New Hall student residence was renamed Bergami Hall in honor of Samuel S. Bergami, Jr., and his wife, Lois Stapleton Bergami.

The most recent generous gift from the Bergami family allowed the university to purchase the 66,000-square-foot facility facing the Boston Post Road, which includes not only dorms, student lounges, classrooms and dining areas, but also essential administrative offices and retail space. Built in 2004 and on lease, the university was able to purchase the building at a cost of $12.5 million.

The purchase was made possible through the assistance of the Bergami gift?another in a lengthy line of charitable contributions which includes the Samuel S. Bergami, Jr., Learning Center for Finance and Technology, the Bergami Family Fitness Center, the Bergami Family Lecture Hall, and the Bergami Family Summer Internship Program. As well, the Bergami family has endowed several scholarships to assist and advance future generations of UNH students.

At the unveiling ceremony, President Steven H. Kaplan remarked on the longstanding and storied philanthropy of Sam Bergami to UNH. In his lighthearted, but also serious and significant remarks, Kaplan noted that ?with the exception of the Rockefellers, the name ?Bergami? is probably on more college buildings than any other name in the country.?

In emphasizing the Bergami family?s generosity to the university, Kaplan further noted that ?Sam is a millionaire now. He was a multimillionaire before he met me. Now, he claims me as a dependent on his tax returns.?

Kaplan closed his remarks by noting that UNH will soon be the beneficiary of the Bergami Family?s renewed financial commitment. In a challenge donation, Sam Bergami, who is one of UNH?s two largest donators, has agreed to fund the purchase of property in the Orange area. The university plans to house its ever-expanding graduate programs there.

Not only Kaplan recognized the matchless financial support of Sam Bergami at the dedication ceremony, but John M. Picard, the Mayor of the City of West Haven, did so as well. Mayor Picard, who is also a UNH alumnus, noted that the university has grown by ?leaps and bounds? and that the campus when he was a student was ?about the size of a phone book.?

He credited the Bergami family and their impact gift-giving with the rapid, hallmarked advancement of the university and cited Sam Bergami as the vital link in the partnership between UNH and the City.

Phillip H. Bartels, the recently-elected chair for the Board of Governors, also paid tribute to the numerous contributions of Sam and his family to UNH. He praised Bergami on both a professional and personal level, honoring him as both a mentor and a friend. Bartels has worked with Bergami for several years, especially during Bergami?s past stewardship as chairman.

In recognition of Sam Bergami?s many contributions, the university named him a Distinguished Alumnus in 2000, awarded him an honorary Doctor of Business degree in 2002, and presented him with the President?s Award in 2012. Under his continued support, it is clear that the University of New Haven will thrive?indeed, flourish and prosper?in the decades to come.

Clyde Hill, WA one of ?Best Places To Live for Surburbanites?: Home ...

Clyde Hill Homes

Coldwell Banker did a national story?this week on the ?Best places to live for suburbanites?. ?Clyde Hill, WA was featured as one of the 11 cities across the U.S. that embody the quality of life perceived as most benefitting suburbanites.

The story ranked suburban cities based on the percentage of residents that own their home (known to contribute heavily to low crime rates and better upkeep of real estate), quality of available nearby schools (data gathered from GreatSchools.org?s rankings), and the number of nearby amenities that support suburban lifestyles (ATMs, grocery stores, gas stations, etc.). ?Clyde Hill ranked very high in all three categories with 89.7% of its residents owning their homes, a perfect 10.0 score for schools, and 1,026 nearby amenities.

The first category, percentage of?home ownership, is not a surprise at all for those that know Clyde Hill. ?Although it is technically an incorporated city unto its own, it feels much like an upscale neighborhood of Bellevue. Real estate values are fairly high in this coveted location, with most home prices over $1,000,000. ?Luxury real estate prices don?t usually lend themselves to a large rental population in suburban areas, and this is evident in Clyde Hill. ?If you?ve spent a lot of time in the area, you know that the low crime rates allow the Clyde Hill police department (which also services nearby Yarrow Point) much more time spent on ticketing speeding drivers?the 25 mph speed limit is not a ?suggestion? in Clyde Hill.

Clyde Hill might be matched by the adjacent cities of Yarrow Point, Hunts Point, and Medina in terms of real estate values and low crime rates, but it is somewhat closer to downtown Bellevue for amenities, and has a number of high quality local schools. ?Clyde Hill Elementary and Chinook Middle School are part of the Bellevue School district, and two of the top public schools in the state, while Sacred Heart School and Bellevue Christian School are highly-regarded private schools within the city?s boundaries.

Clyde Hill WA Real Estate

In terms of amenities, Clyde Hill technically has just two public businesses, a gas station and a Tully?s coffee shop. ?However, it?s just a few blocks from downtown Bellevue which creates hundreds of dining, retail, and entertainment options just a short drive away. ?Access to both the I-405 freeway and SR-520 floating bridge into Seattle make it a flexible location for commuters going in any direction.

At just around 3,000 residents, Clyde Hill is certainly a small locale to take on a ?Best City? moniker, but the high quality of lifestyle, real estate, and education in Clyde Hill certainly make it a worthy recipient of the ?Best place to live for suburbanites? title.

See all Clyde Hill homes for sale.

Blog - Ten Myths about Adoption | TheAFA.org

by Kathy Brodsky, L.C.S.W.

Adoption is an emotionally charged topic. Throw in some misinformation and a whopping dose of the stuff tabloids are made of and it?s hard to separate myth from fact.? So sit back, get comfortable, and learn the truth about building a family through adoption.??

1. MYTH: There are no kids to adopt.

FACT: There are children of all ages waiting for permanent homes and available for adoption.? ?In July 2012, the U.S. Children's Bureau posted new statistics on the numbers of children involved with the child welfare system. The new reports indicate there were 104,236 children waiting to be adopted. And, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services statistics reveal the immigration of 9,319 children into the US in 2011. There are also numerous children (mostly infants) who are adopted privately in the United States every year. It is important to:

  • Consider your options (foster care, private, or international adoption).
  • Research developmental issues of children adopted at various ages.
  • Explore adoption issues at ages and stages of the child and family.
  • Talk to your extended family about your plan and gain their support.

To help you in this decision-making process, you can also consult with adoption professionals in your area and join an adoptive parent support group. The more information you have at the start of the process, the better.

?2.? MYTH: If I adopt internationally, I don?t have to worry about talking to my child about birth parents or anyone ringing the doorbell.

FACT: Your child has a history whether you know the details or not. All children are curious about where they came from. For those who do not have facts, you will explore possible scenarios with your child. You will also discuss why adoptions from that country occurred at that time. As for the fears of contact with birth families, the reality is that contact can be anything from a phone conversation somewhere along the adoption process, to ongoing contact during and after the adoption takes place. Having contact does not mean you are co-parenting. It means that everyone cares about the child?s best interests. Years ago, the possibility of contact with birth parents in international adoption was improbable. But now with the Internet and international search groups, it has become easier for birth parents and siblings to find one another and gain information about family history.?

3. MYTH: It takes longer for non-traditional families (singles, gays and lesbians, transgendered individuals and older couples) to adopt.?

FACT: While some agencies and countries have restrictions on age, marital status, or sexual orientation, there are others that are glad to be your advocate.? It is important to ask attorneys, agencies, and social workers up front if they support your decision to parent through adoption and if they have a network that can help you. For any adoptive parent, the more open you are to a child?s age, race, medical, or developmental issues, the swifter your adoption process may be.? The actual timeline is more dependent upon how involved you are in the process or if you are on a waiting list at an agency. The more you are able to do to expand your search, the better. Then, of course, there is always luck.?

4.? MYTH: Adoption is very expensive.

FACT:? The costs of adoption vary depending on the type of process and allowable state and federal expenses. Costs may include legal or agency fees, the baby and birth mother?s medical costs, the birth family?s living expenses, travel expenses, advertising and networking fees, federal application fees, homestudy and post adoption report fees. Some families choose a process or to remain close to home to reduce travel costs. You should always get a detailed written explanation of the costs of a particular adoption before you agree to proceed. Rough estimates of what you may spend:? international?$20,000-60,000 (with higher costs including several trips to a birth country), domestic?$10,000-35,000; adoption through foster care?$0-5,000 (usually the cost of an attorney to finalize the adoption). You can offset the costs of adoption by taking advantage of state and federal tax credits, adoption subsidies and reimbursements for children with special needs, adoption loans and grants; employer benefits and military benefits.

5. MYTH: All adopted kids have ADD, ADHD, emotional problems, or behavioral issues.

FACT: Any child, birth or adopted, can have medical, emotional, or behavioral issues. While adoption research varies regarding this statement, it is believed that many children do experience some sort of developmental or emotional issue. Some believe this is due to the genetic profile of the birth parents, lack of prenatal care, or the ?trauma? of being adopted. There is additional debate about nature vs. nurture; with most agreeing that children are influenced by both their biological make-up and their environment. Early detection and support services help children and families develop adaptations and accommodation to these challenges. The majority of adopted children grow up to be successful in adult life.?

6.? MYTH: No one will tell me the best way to adopt?I feel alone in the process.

FACT: While you must make the final decision, there are many people who can advise and help you navigate the adoption process. You will meet agency personnel, social workers, and attorneys who can guide you along the way. It is also a good idea to get involved with a local adoptive parents group, where you can meet other singles and couples who are trying to adopt or who have already adopted. You can learn a great deal from these parents and forge lasting relationships. Be sure to check out any agency you hire through your State Department of Social Services, Joint Council on International Children?s Services, or the Better Business Bureau. Attorneys through your State Bar Association or the AmericanAcademy of Adoption Attorneys; and Adoptive Parent Groups at the North American Council on Adoptable Children.??Always keep in mind that you are the one who will make the final decisions based on the advice of those who know the legal and emotional process of adoption and parenting.

7. MYTH: I can get all the information I need on the Internet.?

FACT: While there is a lot of information on the Internet, the adoption process needs to be tailored to your particular family. Remember, it is hard to know who is posting information in cyberspace. Adoption professionals recommend you double-check any information with a local source. In addition to finding out the most current information, you also need to make sure you meet state and federal regulations regarding your adoption process. There are many sites and e-lists established for families built through a particular type of adoption. Many of these sites provide tremendous support, parenting advice, and resources. However, for some, the sense of isolation (?I am the only one doing this?) is overwhelming. Weigh carefully what you are reading, your need for human contact and support based on your family?s needs, and consult with local professionals when unclear of your next steps.

8. MYTH: Once I adopt, I can just blend into the crowd and not discuss adoption.?

FACT: You probably could unless you are a ?conspicuous family? (one visually built through other than a biological connection), but it is not recommended. Adoption is a part of you, your child, and your family forever. Most days you will be involved in typical parenting challenges balanced with the joys of watching your child grow and develop new skills. But, there are also things that will occur that are adoption-related, posing questions, causing anxieties, and requiring choices and decisions.? It could be a school assignment, such as drawing one?s family tree that poses unanswered questions, or a child asking why another child doesn?t look like a parent, or even your child asking about their early years or birth family. It may also be the result of a doctor needing medical background or an academic or emotional issue needing further clarification. Some families even find TV and movies raise questions of family formation, which can lead to wonderful and exploratory conversations. It is suggested that you start the conversation with your child early and keep that conversation going as your child grows and matures. Keep in mind that your child should learn adoption information and details from you, not family or friends. More important, the information ultimately belongs to your child. Let him/her share details with extended family and friends when s/he is ready.

9. MYTH: If I am comfortable with adoption, my friends and families will be, as well.?

FACT: We all have our own understanding and comfort level with adoption.? As an adoptive parent, your job is not only to raise your child, but to educate people about adoption so that they will treat you, your child and your family sensitively and appropriately. While it is important not to share the details of your child?s ?story,? allowing your child to share it when s/he is ready, it is important for others to know that while your family may have been formed through adoption, it is no different in day-to-day functioning. Having said this, the media has done a good job in sensationalizing adoption and many people have great misinformation and prejudices as a result. So you need to remain vigilant. What is true is that the more comfortable you are with adoption, the easier it will be for you to talk to others, including your child. Practice early and ask for help, when needed.

10. ? MYTH: If you tell the school your child is adopted, they will identify that as the cause for any academic, behavioral or social issues that arise.

FACT: It is important for you to know how a school views all sorts of familial and learning issues that might affect your child?s time there. During school tours and interviews, ask about diversity, learning issues, parent and children?s clubs, and support services, such as tutors, psychologists, or social workers. You will need this sort of information to make a decision whether this is the right educational environment for your child and family. Some families remain cautious and choose not to mention the adoption until something happens at school. Others tell at the start, meet with classroom teachers and find that once revealed, teachers are more sensitive when assignments, such as timelines, family tree projects, or genetic curriculum come up. At times, you may need to educate teachers and school administrators on some alternatives to traditional assignments. Remember, local adoption professionals and agencies can be most helpful to you and may even offer to meet with school personnel. Once you have established this working relationship with the school, teachers can then alert you as to the timing of class work and homework, as well as any peer issues that arise in the classroom. Teachers want to see students succeed academically and socially. Working with you, they will be more prepared to help your child.

Online Bookkeeping Outsourcing For Small Businesses

There are several small business owners who do not have the time and efforts to do their own bookkeeping. In that case, they can go for outsourced online bookkeeping. Here is why it will work.

1. Reduced costs
There are several cost benefits associated with online bookeeping. Say, if you hire an in-house bookkeeper, you have to meet expenses for hiring and training, office infrastructure and so on. This amounts for high overhead costs. Bookkeeping is something that you can ideally do yourself. But you may not have the time to take care of it, given your other more important activities like meeting clients. So you decide hire a professional to manage it. But if this is only going to cost you a fortune, it is not wise to invest in an in-house bookkeeper. The alternative is to outsource it to a reliable outsourcing firm. You might have to do a little homework on

choosing the right agency, but get it from me, it's completely worth it.

2. More time to focus on core business
When you outsource your online bookkeeping, you will have more time to focus on your core business which is found to be a safe and secure option. Your remote bookkeeper from the agency would perform all the accounting activities on your behalf. You can check it immediately too. This way your work, as a client is minimized. You save a lot of time to focus on your core business.

3. Work handled by professionals
There are several questions regarding the quality of services offered by an outsourcing firm. Will they be good enough? Will they do a poor job given the fact that clients cannot meet them in person often? Well, these are reasonable questions, but quite unnecessary. When you choose your firm, you can always ask for sample work and question them on subjects related to your industry. You sign up with them only when you are convinced. Outsourcing firms are also becoming wary of these things, so they do not willingly get into such troubles. They provide quality online bookkeeping services - the only difference is they are not at your office in person. This fact aside, weigh your pros and cons - you have professionals who provide quality bookkeeping services at affordable rates. You have nothing to lose. Especially, if they are from places like India and China, you can even get your work done earlier if you plan it well, because of the time difference.

These are reasons why you should be outsourcing your online bookkeeping to remote bookkeepers. If you are beginning to hunt for a reliable outsourcing firm, hold on. Your hunt ends here. You can check out Integra Online Bookkeeping Services - they are reliable, follow strict data security measures and are located in India. It
might just be what you are looking for.

A UT Arlington Computer Science & Engineering team is developing a sensor and monitoring system to put consumers in charge of monitoring energy, gas and water use with a goal of saving them money.

The project builds on pervasive computing technology developed by professor Sajal Das, director of UT Arlington's Center for Research in Wireless Mobility and Networking. Das and doctoral student Giacomo Ghidini are one of 100 recipients of a 2012 National Science Foundation Innovation Corps, or I-Corps, grant intended to move research to the marketplace.

"If this technology can save homeowners or businesses 10 to 15 percent of their energy expenses, that's monumental," Das said. "It gives them great insight and allows them to make informed decisions."

Until now, energy providers have been in control of web-based, smart meter applications that can help homeowners and other consumers monitor and regulate energy consumption. With the pervasive computing system developed by Das and Ghidini, consumers would have the power, the researchers said.

"The system we have has mass potential because everyone wants to control their environment in their home," Das said. "They don't want to surrender that control to power providers."

Das joined The University of Texas at Arlington in 1999 and has received nearly $2 million in NSF grants during the last several years in support of his work in pervasive computing and data fusion methods that accumulate information using high-tech sensors.

In the current project, the sensors record data that affects resource consumption, such as how many people are in a room, whether they are engaged in physical activity, how many appliances or lights are on and exterior humidity and temperature.

The data is analyzed to determine how much energy is needed to cool or heat a home. Homeowners would access information about optimal thermostat settings, for example, via a smartphone and web-based application.

The NSF has created three commercialization nodes in issuing I-Corps grants. They are at Stanford University, Georgia Tech University and University of Michigan. Das and Ghidini presented their recommendations at a Georgia Tech conference recently where potential investors, fellow I-Corps grant recipients and venture capital firms were present. Ghidini's presentation focused on a business model to commercialize the technology.

"What makes the grant exciting is that we're taking what we learn inside the lab to where it will be put to use," Ghidini said.

Jean-Pierre Bardet, dean of the UT Arlington College of Engineering, said the work by Das and Ghidini is representative of the many real-world solutions being developed by University engineering teams.

"Energy consumption and our ability to control consumer costs affect everyone," Bardet said. "UT Arlington researchers are committed to developing technology that improves our lives, and this NSF project is an important avenue for making that technology accessible commercially."

Children with Autism Experience Interrelated Health Issues | www ...

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionSend by emailSend by email Share this

Kate McIntyre, COLUMBIA, Mo. ? One in 88 children has been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A new study by a University of Missouri researcher found that many children with ASD also experience anxiety, chronic gastrointestinal (GI) problems and atypical sensory responses, which are heightened reactions to light, sound or particular textures.

These problems appear to be highly related and can have significant effects on children?s daily lives, including their functioning at home and in school.

Micah Mazurek, an assistant professor of health psychology and a clinical child psychologist, found in her study of 2,973 children and adolescents with ASD that nearly one-fourth also had chronic GI problems, such as constipation, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea or nausea. The results also showed that children with chronic GI problems were more likely to experience anxiety and sensory problems.

?These problems can have a very real impact on daily life. Children with anxiety may be distressed or reluctant to engage in new activities, and those with sensory problems may have trouble paying attention or participating in over-stimulating enviornments,? Mazurek said. ?These children may also suffer uncomfortable GI problems that they may not be able to communicate about to adults.?

Clinicians should be aware that anxiety, GI problems and sensory sensitivity often co-occur in individuals with ASD. Effectively managing these concurrent issues may improve children?s quality of life and their responses to treatment, Mazurek said.

?Parents need to be aware that these problems may underlie some of their children?s difficulties, so if they notice any symptoms, they should talk to their doctors or therapists about treatment options,? Mazurek said. ?Practitioners who work with children with ASD need to be mindful that there is a pretty high rate of these problems, so if children are treated for one issue, it may helpful to screen for these additional symptoms.?

This is the first study to examine the relationships among anxiety, GI problems and sensory over-responsivity in a large, nationally representative sample of children and adolescents with ASD. Participants in the study were enrolled in the Autism Treatment Network, a network of 17 autism centers throughout North America that are focused on best practices for medical treatment of children with ASD.

The study, ?Anxiety, Sensory Over-Responsivity, and Gastrointestinal Problems in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders,? was published in the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology. Mazurek is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Psychology in the MU School of Health Professions and a clinical child psychologist at the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Mazurek?s coauthors from the School of Health Professions include Stephen Kanne, executive director of the Thompson Center and the William and Nancy Thompson Endowed Chair in Child Health in the Department of Health Psychology; and Lee Ann Lowery, director of the MU Pediatric Occupational Therapy Clinic in the Thompson Center and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Several experts external to MU also contributed to the study.

Helen Mirren to play Queen Elizabeth again - on stage

(Reuters) - Oscar-winning English actress Helen Mirren will play the role of Britain's Queen Elizabeth again - this time in a stage play from the screenplay writer of "The Queen," producers said on Friday.

Dame Helen will star in Peter Morgan's "The Audience," opening in London in 2013. The play traces 60 years of weekly "audiences" or meetings at Buckingham Palace between the British monarch and her prime ministers.

Britain has had 12 prime ministers during Queen Elizabeth's 60-year reign, and the play imagines some of the pivotal private meetings that took place as the Queen, who ascended to the throne at age 25, matured from young womanhood to elder stateswoman, producers said in a statement.

Stephen Daldry, the man behind the stage musical and movie "Billy Elliot," will direct.

Morgan was Oscar-nominated for his screenplay for 2006 movie "The Queen," which traced royal and political reaction to the sudden death in a car crash in 1997 of Princess Diana.

Mirren, 67, won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award and a British BAFTA for her portrayal of the Queen. She also won a raft of awards from playing Queen Elizabeth I in the 2005 British television series "Elizabeth I."

"The Audience" will open in previews at London's Gielgud Theatre on Feb 15, 2013, and is scheduled to run until June.

Even though the atmosphere in lines around the world wasn't as exciting as?in past years?? in part thanks to sponsored human billboards and protesters?? the moment the clock chimed 8 a.m. at Apple Stores around the world, cheers erupted. The iPhone 5 has arrived.

The first person in line at Apple's flagship store in New York City is Hazem Sayed, the developer behind Vibe, an?app that lets its users broadcast anonymous messages to those nearby. He has spent well over a week sitting in front of the Apple Store on 5th Avenue and he does not regret a moment. "I'm as happy as I am tired," he tells reporters who crowd him as soon as he exists the store with his iPhone in hand.

When asked whether he even has the energy to use his new iPhone 5 after the long wait, Sayed smiles. "It's love at first sight," he says. "I'll stay up all night."

Love at first sight isn't eternal love though. Sayed does say he would consider selling his new gadget for twice what he paid, meaning about a thousand dollars total. "The receipt is longer than the phone," he remarks absentmindedly as he holds up a crumpled slip of paper next to the device.

Long after Sayed managed to escape the clutches of reporters, cheers continued?erupting?each time someone exited the Apple Store, with a new iPhone 5 in hand.

Rapidly Growing Program for Top Health and Wellness Innovators Shares New Model for Success in Digital Health

Innovation Sectors Range From Telehealth, Aging in Place, and Physician Engagement to Patient Communications, Social Health Content, and Concierge Medicine

?

NY, NY ? Wednesday, September 19, 2012 ? StartUp Health announced the addition of 12 ?Healthcare Transformers? who were selected to join its rapidly growing national academy for health and wellness entrepreneurship. StartUp Health, which launched in June 2011 at HHS?s Health Datapalooza in Washington, DC, now includes a portfolio of 22 of the nation?s leading early stage and growth companies in digital health and wellness. ?These extraordinary and passionate entrepreneurs and innovators (?Healthcare Transformers?) are collectively on a mission to solve one of the great challenges of our time: fixing a broken healthcare system in ways that significantly reduce costs and dramatically improve care.

?After reviewing hundreds of applications, it was incredibly difficult to narrow it down to these 12 amazing teams,? said Unity Stoakes, co-founder and President of StartUp Health. ?The Healthcare Transformers selected to join StartUp Health Academy represent an experienced group of leaders who are building a new wave of solutions across a broad spectrum of health and wellness innovation.?

?To really move the dial and and maximize growth, we have designed StartUp Health Academy as a unique long-term program and a more efficient way for health entrepreneurs to navigate the dips and leverage opportunities as they grow their business,? said Steven Krein, co-founder and CEO of StartUp Health. ?The Academy is structured as a three-year curriculum with strategic thinking workshops and collaborative peer groups designed to help innovators navigate business challenges. We believe there is great power in these networks and in the model of bringing together the community of innovators, customers, investors, and partners we have organized to transform healthcare.?

?In addition to being a long-term program, one of the wonderful things that attracts great entrepreneurs to apply to our program is that we are both location and stage agnostic,? explained Krein. ??In our second class of Healthcare Transformers, six teams are located on the East Coast and six on the West Coast. ?The companies in this class, which includes four women founders, four serial entrepreneurs and five physicians, are already beyond the Idea Stage, with founding teams in place, initial financial backing, and early user or customer traction. ?All have already received seed funding or financial support via venture capital, angel investors, grants, or customer revenue. ?And four of the companies have been participants in one of the digital health seed accelerators.?

Healthcare Transformers added in September 2012 include:
