Israel to include Punjab in its next action plan

To expand its agricultural ties with India, Israel intends to include India's northern agro states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in it next action plan.

Both the countries already have been working in the field of agriculture and horticulture in Haryana ,Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Notably, Punjab's chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was in Israel in 2009 seeking trade and agricultural ties.

Badal during his visit to Israel stressed on the need for cooperation in water management system and Israel's expertise in agro industries.

Indian Ambassador to Israel, Navtej Sarna, informed Asian News International (ANI) that after achieving success in the earlier action phase in the agricultural field the Israel would be including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in their next action plan in the agricultural sector.

Israel and India work on 20 agriculture and water-related projects by creating centers of excellence across India. The facilities will facilitate the transfer of cutting edge agricultural technologies to Indian farmers. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
